2 Days Small Circle & Banteay Srei & Beng Mealea & Floating Village

Day 1: After your breakfast our guide will meet you in the lobby at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and will take you to visit Angkor Wat, The biggest monument Hindu temple was built in 12nd Century. After we continue long driving over 30Km through the village & rice-paddy field in the countryside to visit Banteay Srei temple or called Ladies temple, the one which built from the pink sandstone in half of 10th century by Hindu King Rajendravarman II for dedicated to trinity Gods in Hindu mainly Shiva.

After busy couple hours in the morning around 12:30pm we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch around 1:30pm or 2:00pm we’ll visit Pre Rup which was constructed in late 10th century dedicated to Hindu gods. This reflects the common belief among Cambodians that funerals were conducted at the temple. Then we continue to see Ta Promh temple on the small circuit road. This temple is one with a lot of gigantic tree roots over the temple and is the place where Hollywood made the movie "Tomb Raider". The last ones we go to visit the city of Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple. It’s the highlight temple in the centre of Angkor Thom city with 49 towers in which every tower has 4 faces, so that means there are 196 faces of Budhhistsatva Avalokestesvara. Then we walk to the next temple nearby called Baphoun which is a Hindu temple built before Angkor Wat in the 11th Century. The big Reclining Buddha behind it was built in 16th Century & we continue to Royal Enclosure Wall nearby with a visit to Elephant & Leper King Terrace , still within the complex of Angkor Thom. Afterward continue to Phnom Bakheng climb the hill and temple for enjoy watching sunset view.

After sunset when getting dark then we climb down the hill and return to your hotel or guesthouse by 6:00pm or 6:30pm.


Day 2: Start tour early at 5:00am to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat after view of sunrise come back to hotel for breakfast for you have breakfast and then we start tour again to see floating village or we called fishing village on Tonle Sap Lake at Kampong Pluk village to see the long stilted house and flooded Mangrove forest.

After lunch around 1:30pm or 2:00pm we’ll visit Beng Mealea, as so far this temple still original as no restoration yet and too much covered by jungle that’s why most people called “Indianajon temple”. After Beng Mealea on the way back to city/your hotel if time permit then we will stop to visit Roulos Group ( Lolei, Preah Ko, Bakong )

Our tour will conclude when we return you to your hotel between 4:00pm-5:00pm.


***Everyday time to start tour you can choose by yourself but we suggest you to start at 8:00am 8:15am or 8:30am 8:45am or 9:00am except sunrise tour which require starting at 4:45am-5:00am. When tour start tour guide and driver will come to pick you up from hotel lobby then you have to be ready already in the lobby at this time also.

Tips:

  • Please note that you must be dressed appropriately for visiting some of our temples, Angkor Wat, Baphoun inside Angkor Thom, Phnom Bakheng and climbing some temples. This means your pants or skirt should  cover your  knees and shirt can not be  sleeveless (make sure that your shirt covers  your shoulders, no singlets!) otherwise you won't be allowed  entry or to climb up this is by Temples Authority.
    Comfortable walking shoes are recommended and wearing light cotton clothes are suggested as well for the weather from March to July as it's very hot with high humidity.
  • We suggest you to bring your camera charger then you can recharge it during your lunch break at restaurant.
  • The official currency in Cambodia is the Cambodian Riel (KHR), however USD$ are used everywhere in the country and most of the prices are set in USD. We advise you to bring US$ and remember to bring new and clean bank notes as the old or torn notes will not be accepted at most places. ATMs are almost everywhere in the city also and making it easy to withdraw cash in USD. The exchange rate is usually roughly KHR4000 to US$1, so if you give US$2 for something which costs KHR6000, you will usually receive back KHR2000.
